BrookeHansonPhoto On March 28th 2006, Michael and Jessie Hanson welcomed into their life a little girl named Brooke Lynn Hanson. As the youngest of five children she was a wonderful addition to the Hanson family. She was always a “water baby”, learning to swim at the young age of three. She loved to camp, paddle board, and swim, but her passion was for fishing. Brooke was a very fun and happy child growing up. She was involved with volleyball, softball and was active in 4H Shooting Sports. She was fortunate enough to get a “Robin Hood” with her archery skills. Until her life was tragically taken from her.

On May 20th of 2021, Brooke was walking with her two friends en-route to a fishing hole when she was struck and killed by a drunk driver.

As one could imagine, the grief suffered is unimaginable. It was felt throughout the community and continues unto this day.

The Hanson family, along with Flathead Wildlife Inc, have established a memorial fund in Brooke’s name as well as created the Brooke Hanson Memorial Family Fishing Day held in May at the Pine Grove Fishing Pond.

This event is used to encourage families to get together for a fun filled Saturday and create some memories and perhaps win some incredible prizes donated by local merchants and sportsman organizations.
