Flathead Lake: FWI is engaged in the management of the Flathead drainage fishery.to ensure a balance between native fish management and recreational fishing. FWI’s goal is to have Fish, Wildlife and Parks and The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribe renegotiate the Flathead Fishery Co-Management Plan to select mutually agreeable goals and strategies with public participation.

Flathead Fishing Fair: Held at Snappy Sport Senter on a Saturday in early May from 9 am to noon. Along with the kids fishing derby for ages 12 and younger there will be a number of fun and educational activities for kids and adults.

Pine Grove Family Fishing Pond: Watch for Summer Opening in early April. Flathead Wildlife, Inc. has worked with FWP and Flathead Walleyes Unlimited to install handicapped accessible fishing piers and paths and to improve parking. We hope to work to build another picnic shelter soon.

Shady Lane Family Fishing Pond: Open year round for family fishing. Flathead Wildlife is installing benches around Shady Lane Pond to make it easier for families to fish.

Smith Lake: Flathead Wildlife, Inc. has worked with FWP and Flathead Walleyes Unlimited to install handicapped accessible fishing piers.

Note: There is a fishing regulation that requires all anglers age 15 and older to release all fish they catch from Family Fishing Ponds to leave harvest to the younger anglers. Daily trout limits for younger anglers vary by pond.
